Millet

The making of the millet! I will start whit saying this first. When you get the millet made up you need to lay it out so that it can air dry some. Take it and spread it out about an in. thick. We use an old kids swimming pool to do this in for Rick and I use too make 50lbs at a time. We would let it lay in the sun most of the day. You have to keep the bugs off so watch it close. You don't have to do this but we fine it to be needed to get the best out of it.

When mixing millet bait I found it to be a lot easier to heat the syrup first. What you what to do is take the millet, wheat bran and the flour mix well. Whit the syrup heated to where you can still stand to work it with your hand. Pour it over the mix and stir till you don't see any of the flour at all. That's it you have it. Now you can use it without doing what I talk about laying it out to dry. But it does make better bait to do it. You can use it for fishing about 30 minutes after you make it if you want. The older that it get usually the better millet is. You have to keep it dry and turn the bucket over every 3 days to keep it right.
